woman is just trying to live her life with the divorced man she is moving in with, when he suffers an aneurism, falls
down some stairs, and dies in a hospital shortly after she gets him to it. She knows she has no rights — to the car,
apartments, etc. — but she does want to grieve for her man. The man's family makes it hard for her to do that.
