Hidalgo

This is an old fashioned movie: a
taciturn lone cowboy and his sturdy mustang horse against all
odds, standing back from the stylish women who seem to want
him, a sharp shooter with a pistol, honor bound to do the right
thing, soaring music as men and horse thunder across the desert.
The first half hour is slow, until the cowboy gets to Arabia and
the action really starts; the last ten minutes when the cowboy is
back in the old west freeing all the mustangs is also slow. The
in between part is fun but with the “depth” of an old Saturday
morning serial.
