This is the story of a drag queen
and the heir to a failing shoe manufacturing business who help each
other find a higher purpose in life. The problem with the movie for me
is its stereotyped presentation of the drag scene and fairly
superficial representations of all the other characters. It could have
been a considerably better movie with better writing, I think. On the
other hand, the large, generally older, audience where I saw the film
seemed to love it, and I found a good bit in it that was amusing. The
scenes machines and people making shoes in a shoe factory, and the drag
queen's musical scenes were the best parts.
