Constant Gardener, The
Rating = B+
I think this movie was
very well done. I can't remember the detailed plot of the book, but the movie
feels quite true to the general premise of the book. In particular,
the actors for the lead characters in the movie (Justin and Tessa) will
be fine for me to imagine as I reread the book. This is a problem with some
Le Carre' books and movies: Diane Keaton was not the right image as I reread
The Little Drummer Girl; only Geffeory Rush had the right image
for a rereading of The Tailor of Panama; of course, Alec Guinness many others
were the perfect images for Smiley upon rereading Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
and Smiley's People, and Sean Connery and Michelle Pfeiffer were pretty
good images for rereading The Russian House.
