Conversations with Other Women
Rating = B
The movie uses
a split screen throughout which is sometimes effective (for
flashbacks, showing two points of view, showing alternate
possibilities, and sometimes just for showing different distances
between the man and woman who are the subject of the film); however,
the split screen is a little distracting at other times. For me this
movie is one big example of “can't live with 'em — can't live
without 'em”; I suppose the “other women” of the title is somehow
related to the games the two protagonists play. I thought the lead
actors were excellent in their infinitely wordy roles — just the
right balance of off-handedness and desire.
