This is the
story of a lifelong intellectual competition between father and son scholars.
The movies is done with lots of fun graphic and
visual flourishes. Some of the critics complain about an unclear ending.
I think what was going to happen as the movie ended
was clear — that the father was going to go all the way and reject the prize for
which he had been competing his whole life and thus
inflict his final wound on the intellectual establishment he despises and
on his son who is an honored member of that establishment.
