This film covers the
first two years of Jackie Robinson's career with the Dogers organization,
the first year with minor eague Montreal and the second year with the Brooklyn
Dogers. Brach Rickey, Dogers owner, who made the decision to bring a player from
the Negro Leagues into Major League Baseball is almost as big a part of the film's
story as is Robinson himself. No doubt there is a more complex story than shown in
this film, but the film has a good enough story that is enjoyable to watch.
