I'm Not There

Rating = C

Mixing fiction and reality while having six actors portray different characters each of which is in some way related to Bob Dylan might be an interesting idea. However, the film appears to strive for artiness — like a beat poet or write thought he could do anything bizarre and call it art. However, this approach just makes the movie seem confused, long, and boring. The music is fun to listen to, and watching the movie reminded me of an actual documentary about Bob Dylan; this listening and that memory reminded me of what a fantastic poet and song writer Bob Dylan is. Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger and and a couple of the other actors are fun to watch. Marcus Carl Franklin is good when he is singing.
