Jackie Brown
Rating = A
My wife thought the first half
was slow, and the whole thing was pointless in its nearly
exclusive focus on the immoral motives and behavior of gangsters.
Who cares about such people, she asks.
I thought it was gripping from the start. I loved the all the
actors, especially Max Cherry the bail bondsman and Jackie Brown.
I loved the clarity and color of the photography. Only the final
couple of plot twists were unsurprising. I'd see it again in a
second.
Unlike Pulp Fiction, almost all the violence in this film is off
screen.
