Julie and Julia
Rating = B+
The real critics find fault
(or many faults) with this movie. I think they are wrong. I think
the Julie character is sympathetic, and her personal salvation
through cooking (however good a cook she is or is not) and writing is
a nice parallel to Julia's path. Of course, it would have been fun to
have more scenes with Julia and Paul (and Meryl and Stanley are
wonderful in the roles, with wonderful chemistry), but I can also
imagine that might have been too much of a good thing (and I think
Amy was also good in her role as Julie). All in all, it was a
delightful movie to see — both parts.
