Kissing Jessica Stein
Rating = B-
The theme of this movie
is, as for so many movies, seeking love. The moral is to be willing to
take a chance and, even if that doesn't work out, better things may
result than from avoiding ever taking a chance.
The movie was written by its two co-stars and apparently was produced
by them (and shot on a low budget) so they would have an acting
vehicle; in this dimension, the movie is laudable and successful
enough. It also has some funny lines. Altogether, however, the acting
was business like rather than inspired, it plays longer than its
published running time, and the final three scenes left me confused
(didn't leave me in a state of thought provoking ambiguity).
