Man Who Wasn't There, The
Rating = B+
Throughout this movie, I
kept thinking about how much the Coen brothers must of enjoyed making the
movie. It is filled with loving detail of the 1950s. All the actors are fine,
particularly Billy Bob Thornton and Tony Shalhoub. The dialog and the plots
twists are always fun. I found myself smiling to myself throughout this movie.
I happened to see Almost Famous again on TV the night before seeing The Man Who
Wasn't There. Frances is fine but not as wonderful in The Man Who Wasn't There
as she was in Almost Famous. She was more than adequate in the Man
That Wasn't There, but she's a lot more fun playing the upbeat character rather
than the downbeat one.
