March of the Penguins
Rating = B-
This movie has lots of
swell pictures of penguins and some very interesting facts about the
penguin mating, child care, and weaning cycle. Unfortunately, there is
not quite enough depth or detail to sustain its feature length — it
would have been better as an hour show on the Discovery Channel or in
IMAX format at the science museum. We learn nothing about the rest of
the penguin's life cycle or whether there are other mating sites for
other flocks within this species. We also get a little too much talk
of love when what's probably at work is evolutionary instinct.
