The early step in the story where
Hanna comes on to the 17 year-old boy seems unmotivated (one can
imagine she's been hiding from her past and not socializing much).
After that the story flows quite nicely. The acting of Kate Winslet
is fine, but her academy award may also have been partially motivated
by the vision of her trim young body and old-age makeup.
A agree with the suggestion of one story that the fundamental theme
of this movie is that people mostly go along with the crowd (or want
to go along) and this can bring a lot of trouble. This also extends
to the character of Michael who, as a law student, fails to reveal
reveal his connection with Hanna.
