Robot and Frank
Rating = B-
This is a gentle
film with some humor and some sadness. It is a bit slow at first but then gathers a little steam.
It is not a science fiction film. It is a film set in the “near future” about a retired burglar, Frank,
who is growing old, living alone, and needs help. His family is attentive, each in their own way, but
none can live with him. Thus, his son gives him a health care aide. It is a story about family and extended
family relationships, spiced up a bit by Frank's prior profession.
Robot (it is given no name) looks like a 1950s popular magazine image of a future robot — definitely nothing fancy.
