This is an excellent
Washington-corruption/newspaper-investigative-reporter film. The
cast is all fine. Russell Crowe is particular good in his role, and
Robin Wright Penn always seems to be exactly right for her part in a
film (albeit small here). The movie looks great. The ending is a
bit muddled however.
It struck me as I left the theater how far movie making has come over
the years. Twenty or thirty years ago this movie would have rated a
A. Now everything is generally so much better than then that it only
rates a B.
